The markets

The great open air market of Sully-sur-Loire is reputed for being one of the finest markets in the region. This lively market takes place every Monday and stretches across the Boulevard Jeanne d’Arc, Boulevard du Champ de Foire and Place De Gaulle, in front of the Tourist Information Centre. This square specializes in food products, flowers, plants and regional products, only in the mornings. In the afternoon, the market goes on and offers clothes, material etc.

From May until September, the Tourist Information Centre organizes a market with the products of local craftsmen and producers on the 1st Sunday of each month, on  the Place de Gaulle, in front of the Tourist Information Centre. On these markets, you will be able to find food that is produced locally: Loire Valley vegetables, farm poultry, goat and sheep’s cheeses, Chaingy snails, ostrich meat, fresh and smoked trout, mushrooms, honey, Coteaux du Giennois and Orléans wines, home-made cosmetics, donkey milk chocolates etc.

On the first Saturday of September, a market is held beside the Loire, underneath the Château, on the occasion of the cattle fair. Several activities take place (cattle presentation, horse-drawn carriage promenades, competitions of all kinds …)
